Should the 4 a.m. liquor license zone be expanded?

Currently, 17 establishments in downtown Peoria are permitted to sell liquor until 4 a.m. The Peoria City Council is considering expanding this district to include other businesses, among other options. What do you think?

I agree. Expand the 4 a.m. district to include more businesses.

The majority have spoken. Will this be forwarded to our elected officials?

The majority has not spoken sir. A single poll that is only known about by a certain demographic does not truly represent the majority.

While i do not aggree with expanding the 4 A.M. liqour license zone to oter areas, I do not think it should be restricted to 2:00 A.M. accross the board. The downtown area is bustling business, sometimes too "bustling" for it's own good. It is a huge draw for average citizens, local college students, visiting business people, tourist, and unfortunately, patrons of the bar scene that can cause severe amounts of trouble(i.e. violence, sale of illegal drugs, sexual assault, drunk driving, etc). Certain establishments, and bar owners are as guilty for these kinds of trouble, as the patrons of the places themselves.

This does not mean that all of downtown Peoria is a cesspool of debauchery past 2:00 A.M.

In conclusion; the average citizens, college students, tourists, business people and so forth should not be penalized for the problems associated with the less-than-desireable bar patrons and/or establishments. Rather, the undesirable patrons/establishments should be better addressed.
